Meet Sara.

Her passion can be found in her concrete creations: fountains, planters, garden pieces, and other sculptural works. Typically associated with construction, concrete is a medium Sara has found has a mind of its own. For Sara, it’s not about going into it with all the plans perfectly laid out – she discovers more about what she’s making as she goes.

“Most pieces begin with an idea, a shape, or a feeling, and then evolve as I work,” Sara said. “Concrete has a personality of its own. It doesn’t always do exactly what you planned, and I’ve learned that some of the best results happen when I stop trying to control every detail and let the process unfold naturally… For me, creativity lives somewhere between craftsmanship and discovery.”

Sara finds that creating in Paducah doesn’t have to fit a specific category. She loves that artists here tend to settle in their own niches while supporting the creative journeys of other artists. Paducah embraces art in many forms, and that welcoming atmosphere encourages Sara to pursue a medium most wouldn’t expect. Paducah allows her to find and explore her artistic voice instead of forcing her to lower it.

“Paducah’s artistic spirit has encouraged me to experiment, take risks, and keep learning,” Sara said. “Being surrounded by so many creative people has challenged me to think bigger and push my work further than I ever would have on my own.”

What Sara finds most special about Paducah is the people behind the art. She makes sure to credit the creators, makers, and innovators as the reason art is a feeling. Art isn’t tucked away in Paducah – it’s loud. Sara says it’s more than a way to market the city, it’s genuinely felt through the murals, quilts, and businesses that give art a voice.

“Paducah feels a little like walking through someone’s sketchbook. Around every corner is another idea taking shape. Some become murals. Some become quilts. Some become businesses. Mine happens to become concrete.”
