The Paducah Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and River Discovery Center were honored for excellence in tourism marketing by the Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA).
Paducah CVB representatives accepted five awards at the annual KTIA Traverse Awards Gala in Louisville, Kentucky. Awards included First Place Promotional Video for the Paducah Narrative Tour; First Place Social Media for Facebook, Twitter and YouTube; Second Place Television Ad for Program Underwriting on WTTW Chicago; Second Place Rhythm E-newsletter and Second Place Celebrate Quilting E-newsletter.
“It’s a thrill to join with industry peers from across the state in friendly competition to celebrate the best creative destination marketing projects,” said Mary Hammond, Paducah CVB Executive Director. “Cheering one another on for successful projects reinforces that we are on the right track.”
The River Discovery Center's 2013 Dragon Boat Festival Poster earned Second Place honors for a Specialty Item.
The Traverse Awards honor talent, creativity and effectiveness of marketing and public relations in the Kentucky Travel industry. Each entry is judged by an expert industry panel on its ability to capture attention, relate to the needs of the audience, differentiate the destination from its competition and sell the destination.
