Overview

One of the most popular of Kentucky's nature preserves, Metropolis Lake State Nature Preserve is named for th 50-acre lake within. The preserve is an important habitat for rare spieces and recreational opportunities.

Explore the natural lake ringed with bald cypress and swamp tupelo. Featuring five species of rare fish, beaver and bald eagles in the winter season, the preserve is open to public for hiking, birding and nature study.
