Create a Halloween-worthy scene inspired by art history! In this workshop, you will learn about a creepy genre of flower painting and make your own floral crown. Afterward, photographer Carrie Cunningham will take a photo of your creation with props to share on social media.

The Artistic Inspiration: Vanitas Still-Life
During the 1600s, the Dutch were obsessed with flowers, proud of their wealth, and worried about their immortal souls. Vanitas paintings incorporated symbols of death and sin with luxurious flowers and treasures which suited their tastes perfectly.
In this workshop, you will:
-Learn about the history and symbolism of Vanitas paintings with art historian Megan Robertson
-Create a Dutch inspired flower crown to take home with florist Sara Falder
-Photograph your floral arrangement with creepy Vanitas-inspired props with Carrie Cunningham.
