Overview

This presentation will explore the history of the Yeiser Art Center, notable Paducahan, Mary Yeiser, and her impact on the organization that she founded. Discover more about Historic Downtown Paducah, the Market House building and the distinctive art history of the region.

Led by Lexie Millikan, Executive Director of the Yeiser Art Center & Ashley Barnett President of the Board of Directors of Yeiser Art Center.
Lexie Millikan received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2015, where she focused on textiles, installation, and social practice. Lexie went on to work at the school, teaching studio electives for two years before moving to Kentucky where she is currently the Executive Director of the Yeiser Art Center in Paducah. She recently served as Fiber Artist-In-Residence at the Paducah School of Art & Design and has represented Kentucky artists & administrators abroad at the Sabores y Saberes festival in San Cristobal De Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.
Ashley Barnett is the President of the Board of Directors of Yeiser Art Center. She is a 2001 Murray State graduate where she received her BFA in sculpture and graphic design. Ashley is mostly known in Paducah for her large scale mixed-media paintings but has returned to sculptural work and ceramics in recent years.
