ARE YOU READY FOR A MISSION TO THE STARS?  NEED A LITTLE VACATION… ON ANOTHER PLANET?  JOIN JANET IVEY OF PBS’ JANET’S PLANET AND PRESIDENT OF EXPLORE MARS FOR A SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE THAT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!

The Carson Center is proud to present the STEAM Astronaut Academy for rising 2nd-5th graders June 7-11, 2021.  This 5-day camp will run from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and is filled with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities.

Janet Ivey describes the timeliness of Science Camp as follows:

“We are building on the achievements of those who came before…the Giants who conquered gravity and planted a flag on the Moon…and now this generation will see humans go back to the Moon and on to Mars, to seek a deeper understanding of our universe and bring all that we learn home.  In the next year, we will see NASA’s SLS Artemis 1 take its first flight… you can feel the momentum.  It is undeniable.  This mission has a heartbeat. By the mid-2020’s this generation will see humans exploring the Moon, and by the 2030’s and 2040’s the first humans on Mars.  Come find out how you can have a career in space!”

Fun, creative learning, science. and space that will boost confidence in STEM/STEAM abilities.  Orbit at the speed of thought during this space-powered camp!  The Carson Center appreciates support for arts-education from the Carson-Myre Charitable Foundation and US Bank.
