There's no better reason to make the trip to Paducah than the return of the Lower Town Arts & Music Festival, Paducah’s free, family-friendly festival. If you're planning to stick around for the whole weekend, there’s plenty to look forward to. Here's how to make the most of your visit to Kentucky's Creative City for the return of LTAMF!

Lower Town Arts & Music Festival

Wednesday, May 6 - Louis Michot Workshops & LTAMF Kickoff Celebration

Get a head start and settle in for the weekend! The Paducah Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting Grammy-winning artist Louis Michot of the Lost Bayou Ramblers as part of its new Visiting Artist Program. Louis hails from New Orleans, the newest UNESCO Creative City of Music, and brings that rich musical heritage straight to Paducah. Catch his workshops, “A History of Louisiana French Music” and “Cajun and Creole Music in French Louisiana,” at Market House Theatre's Studio 200.

Keep the energy going at the LTAMF Kickoff at Paducah School of Art & Design! Meet Louis Michot in person, mingle with community members & fellow art enthusiasts, and take in work created by PSAD students. It's the perfect way to start a weekend celebrating local arts and music.

Thursday, May 7 - Kickoff Event: PSO's Crossroads of Sound

Don't miss the bonus pre-festival LTAMF kickoff concert from the Paducah Symphony Orchestra. “Crossroads of Sound” at Symphony Hall brings together classical and bluegrass traditions, featuring local artists The Wheelhouse Rousters, Bawn in the Mash, and acclaimed singer-songwriter SG Goodman. It's a perfect warm-up for a festival weekend!

Crossroads of Sound

Friday, May 8 - The Festival Opens

Start your morning with coffee and a stroll through Paducah's iconic Floodwall Murals along the Ohio River. These paintings tell the story of the city through creativity, a great way to start a day of celebrating it!

From there, wander into the Lower Town Arts District. This historic neighborhood, revitalized through Paducah's Artist Relocation Program, is home to working artists, galleries, and studios that welcome curious visitors. Stop in at Pinecone Gallery or Stornoway House Gallery for a peek at Paducah’s creative heart. With LTAMF weekend drawing even more creative energy to the district, you'll find plenty to discover.

Before heading to the festival grounds, pop over to Paducah Beer Werks. This local favorite is the perfect spot to grab a pint, chat with the folks behind the bar, and get a feel for what makes Paducah's community so welcoming. It's the kind of place you'll still think about once you leave.

The festival itself kicks off Friday evening at 5:00 PM in the heart of Lower Town, with the main stage anchored at the corner of Madison Street and North Seventh Street. Pull up a lawn chair, because Grammy winner Louis Michot of Lost Bayou Ramblers (representing the newest UNESCO Creative City of Music, New Orleans!) opens the evening with his signature French Cajun and Creole sound. Grammy winner Robert Randolph headlines the night with a bit of soul, gospel, and rock & roll. Admission is free, and the music goes until 10:30 PM!

LTAMF Friday 2026

Saturday, May 9 - A Full Day of Art, Music & Community

Rise and shine! Saturday is a long and glorious one. The festival opens at 10:30 AM and runs until 10:30 that evening, so there’s a full day ahead.

Start the morning with a fun drink and a local treat from Etcetera Coffeehouse. It's a Paducah staple beloved by locals and visitors alike, and just the right amount of whimsical to get you in the festival mood! Then take a stroll through the Paducah Homegrown Farmers' Market for the full local experience. Browse vendors offering food, gifts, plants, art, and more, all tucked inside the pavilion just outside the floodwall. It's a short drive or even an easy walk from the festival grounds.

Back at the festival, spend the afternoon browsing the artist booths filled with jewelry, ceramics, prints, paintings, and more. Live music plays continuously on the main stage, with acts like Aaron Lee Tasjan, Luv Locz Experiment, and Bawn in the Mash keeping the energy high all day long. Food and drink vendors are on hand throughout, giving you a chance to sample some of Paducah's best local bites and brews without ever leaving the grounds.

As the evening winds down, take a moment to look around. What started as a neighborhood fair has grown into one of Western Kentucky's most beloved traditions! A living, breathing expression of what it means to be a UNESCO Creative City.

LTAMF Saturday

Before You Head Home

Sunday morning, take a slow walk through Lower Town. The galleries and studios are all the more worth a second look. Stop by the National Quilt Museum if you haven't already; as the largest quilt and fiber arts museum in the world, it's a must for any visitor to Paducah.

Then hit the road with full hearts and, hopefully, a piece of local art tucked in the back seat.
