Paducah Goes to China

There’s nothing like elegance and exotic beauty to inspire poetry. At least that’s what happened for Paducah Mayor Gayle Kaler. The mayor, with Mary Hammond, the executive director of the Paducah Convention and Visitors Bureau, were invited and recently visited Suzhou, China. The invitation was extended to them as a gesture of thanks for Paducah’s support of Suzhou’s application to join the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative Cities Network. Paducah was designated a UNESCO Creative City in 2013.
