The Paducah Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) was honored at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA) Traverse Awards receiving six awards for excellence in tourism marketing.

The CVB’s destination marketing efforts were recognized by the Kentucky travel industry at the Traverse Awards Gala on October 24, 2012 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The CVB received first place honors for the Paducah Visitors Guide 2012-13, Promotional Video, Rhythm E-Newsletter and Paducah Billboard and second place honors for Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) and Celebrate Quilting Rack Brochure.

The Traverse Awards honor talent, creativity and effectiveness of marketing and public relations in the Kentucky Travel industry. Kentucky Travel Industry Association and Kentucky Hotel & Lodging Association members are invited to enter the annual Traverse Awards competition.

An expert industry panel comprised of marketing, public relations and tourism professionals from outside of Kentucky judges the entries. Each entry is judged on
its ability to capture attention, relate to the needs of the audience, differentiate the destination from its competition and sell the destination.

The Paducah Convention and Visitors Bureau, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Paducah/McCracken County, is responsible for generating incremental economic benefit to the community through the attraction of leisure travelers and group tour visits. The Sales & Marketing teams play a major role in developing the image of Paducah and making it one of the most desired travel destinations in the country.
