The LowerTown Arts District offers a casual cultural shopping experience in an historic neighborhood-an area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visit painters, potters, bookbinders, leather crafters and jewelry makers and purchase objets d'art from the artists who created them.

Shop for beautiful quilt fabrics and embellishments and the latest in equipment and supplies. Specialty shops and fiber artists' galleries feature hand-dyed fabrics, sparkling quilting and embroidery threads in silk and cotton, seed and decorative beads, books, frames and a variety of quilting and sewing machinery.

For a more contemporary shopping experience, visit the Kentucky Oaks Mall, the area's largest, with more than 100 stores, including Dick's Sporting Goods. A variety of shopping areas are located in the mall vicinity and include Chico's, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, Best Buy, Kohl's and Gander Mountain, all just off Exit 4 on Interstate 24.
