It's official! Paducah's Quilt Museum has received National designation by Congress!
United States Representative Ed Whitfield announced on May 17, 2008, that a congressional designation had been passed naming Paducah's Museum of the American Quilter's Society as the National Quilt Museum of the United States. The museum was founded by quilt enthusiasts Bill & Meredith Schroeder in 1991 to promote and "honor today's quiltmaker."
Enjoy quilts and the stories they tell at this 30,000-sq. ft. international museum. Throughout the year, the Museum showcases contemporary, miniature, and antique quilts in its impressive facility, which was custom-built and designed for optimal exhibition of quilts. The Museum lobby features quilt patterned stained glass windows and an exciting gift and bookshop.
